Sydney Chan

Content Creator, Storyteller, Multimedia Reporter

Hi, I’m Sydney — currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism, and a minor in Sport Management, at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. It has been my lifelong dream to work in the sports industry, where the action on the field, court, pool, and track always thrills, and the stories behind the athletes never fail to inspire.

I’m an emerging sports reporter and an experienced social media content creator with a passion for storytelling, covering games and events through broadcast video packages, live studio segments, posts on social media platforms, and written pieces. I am also very familiar and comfortable working with various editing systems, such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid, as well as lighting and audio, which makes me an excellent extra pair of hands on any production. I’m eager to collaborate with fellow professionals in the communications field and embrace new opportunities and challenges that will contribute to my growth and help me reach my goals.

Born and raised in Southern California, and named after the host city of the 2000 Summer Olympics, I was lucky to grow up in a sports-fanatic family who has fostered my love for the sports world. From dining at a great restaurant and watching an exciting sporting event, to blasting my favorite music and playing a heated pickleball match, I'm passionate about experiencing life to the fullest and working hard to reach my dreams.
